MLK Grant completed--1st Town wide Black history program--resumed the pageant

Town pickup Truck put in service

Storm Water permit issued to Town of Navassa

Davis Way/Wide Way water system project completed

Largest Parade in Navassa's history

Boat Company expansion (850 jobs)

Boat donated to Police & Fire Departments

Instituted K-9 program

New Fire Truck--$300,000

Partnered with Community Boys & Girls Club summer youth program

Increased Fund Balance significantly in Water/Sewer Department

Baseball Team (Navassa Rams) completed another season

Lena Springs Infrastructure Grant with CHAF closed out

Hired Full Time Administrator

Awarded contract for Davis Creek improvements

Mosquito Control Grant for 2006 closed

Hosted Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue on April 4, 2008

Instituted Moratorium on growth

Cemetery restoration project (Hall cemetery)

Awarded CDBG money $850,000

Awarded infrastructure grant money $390,000

Paving Dorsey Lane

Widening and improving Victoria Lane

Instituted Connect CTY--Communications tool

Changed water supplier from NBSD to County

Submitted (new) Land Use Plan to State

Received Grant for rewrite of Land Development Ordinances

Acquired GIS computer software and 24 inch Plotter

Upgraded Town Hall Computers

Completed UDO for the Town Planning

Hired a new planner (Travis Barnes) old planner (Allen) left for Shallotte

Completed Summer Youth Program (Merrick was coordinator)

Phoenix Community Group formed & became politically active

No Baseball Team (Anthony Lofton coordinated softball)

Received a grant for $400k for Community Center

Received a grant for 1.6 mil for Fire Station

Received 35 year Lease for Phoenix Park

Hired 2 new Police Officers (Smith & Monzon) total of 5

28th Annual Parade (Richard Watson drafted as Chairman)

King Day celebration held at Johnson Chapel Church

3rd annual Fall Festival was successful

New Police Car (Charger) in Dec-09

Storm Water Advisory Committee started

Phoenix Park Advisory Committee named

Elton Daniels started as managment trainee for School of Government

Willis re-elected Mayor (4th term)

Merrick re-elected as Councilman (2nd term)

Burgess elected as Councilman (1st term)

Habitat for Humanity started on 5 new houses (main street)
