2010 Navassa Town Parade:

History

In 1981 a group of Navassa natives saw the need to plan an event that would highlight the community's rich history, thus forming the Navassa Parade Committee. The parade also provides an opportunity for those natives who now live away to come and reunite with their heritage. The first annual Navassa Parade was held July 10, 1982.  Since this inaugural event the parade has continued to grow year after year. The Parade Committee sponsors several events that include a Banquet, Pageant, and Parade. In 1985, the parade's popularity gave way to adding the Community Block Party, Oldies but Goodies Dance, and the Boat Cruise.

THE PARADE COMMITTEE MEETING SCHEDULE IS EVERY WEDNESDAY AT
7:30 PM AT TOWN HALL.
